A Few Words

About Us

JADE Families is a non-profit group established in 2021 with a focus to

  • Support the GEMS in our community – the special needs population high school to adult
  • Support their parents
  • Provide social opportunities in our community
  • Promote a sense of community within families of GEMs and friendships with each other

We strive through relationship building in all levels to create an opportunity and place where GEMs can gain social skills, meet friends, gain functional life skills, approach work skill needs, and be a resource for families.

We want to have fun!  We want to create community!

JADE Families focuses on creating meaningful activities for special needs adults, providing them with a sense of purpose and belonging. We strongly believe that every experience should add value, not only for the individuals but also for their families and caregivers. Our mission is to continuously provide opportunities for growth, development, and inclusion in a safe and supportive environment. Join us in making a positive impact in the lives of special needs adults.

We understand that individuals with special needs often face challenges in finding activities that meet their unique needs and abilities. That is why we are committed to creating engaging, fun, and fulfilling experiences tailored to each individual’s interests and abilities. Our events are designed to promote social interaction, all while having a great time.

At our organization, we believe that every experience should add value, which is why we strive to create activities that are not only enjoyable, but also help our participants develop new skills and abilities. Whether it’s learning a new art technique, trying a new sport, or exploring a new hobby, we believe that every activity has the potential to unlock new possibilities and opportunities for growth.

We also understand that the families and caregivers of individuals with special needs play a critical role in their loved one’s well-being. That’s why our programs are designed to support not only the individuals we serve, but also their families and caregivers. We strive to provide resources and support services to help families and caregivers navigate the challenges of caring for a loved one with special needs.

But beyond all of this, what truly sets our organization apart is our commitment to creating a community of support and belonging. We believe that everyone deserves to feel valued, respected, and included, and we work hard to create an environment that fosters these values. Whether it’s through our programs, events, or just a friendly conversation, we strive to create a sense of belonging and connection for everyone who walks through our doors.

We believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling and meaningful life, and we are committed to doing our part to make that a reality. Thank you for joining us on this journey.

No two days are the same here

Ultimately, our vision is about creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to live their best life, regardless of their abilities. We believe that by providing a space where special needs adults and their caregivers can come together to engage in activities, build relationships, and feel like they’re part of a larger community, we can help make that world a reality.
